Adriano Bompiani. In memoriam

Comunicación de la Academia para la vida sobre el fallecimiento en trágico accidente de Adriano Bompiani.
Dear Member,
Once more, we are constrained to write to you with the sad news that, following some time in the hospital, Emeritus Member, Professor Adriano Bompiani died  on the 18th of June 2013 at the age of 90. One of the Original Members of the Academy for Life, Professor Bompiani was nominated on May 3rd, 1994.
He was the first ordinary professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics in the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of the “Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore” in Rome and worked and studied tirelessly in research, not only in the area of human fertility, but also in Bioethics. He was the first President of the Italian “Comitato Nazionale di Bioethica”, and participated in significant political roles in Italy and in Europe.
His work and his example, highlighted by honesty and truth, reflect a competency and wise research in bioethics. He will remain a pillar of testimony for those who have had the honor of meeting him and for those who have collaborated with him for the defense of human life.
